| Here's a demo for a song on Thee Fine Lines' 2007 album, Set You Straight. The demo actually only features one Fine Line playing all the instruments, but it's a Thee Fine Lines song and is credited as such! | ||

| Walking Talking Zombies - "For Una O'Connor" | previously unreleased internet exclusive!! | MP3 |
| Seems we're only doing every other month now. We're also cheating, as this song isn't rare or out of print! This is a brand new song from the weirdos known as the Walking Talking Zombies. It features many different instruments: woodblock, claves, ocarina, piano horn, bells used in an unconventional manner, tambourine, floor toms, other percussive sounds, bass, and guitar. Oh, and it's a tribute to Una O'Connor. | ||

| Thee Fine Lines - "No Christmastime" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Well, it's not very Fine Linesy, but here you go! This year's "seasonal song" is a sad little country ditty that will put a tear in your beer. But don't worry, the band hasn't decided to abandon rock & roll in favor of country music! | ||

| Curse of the Shakers - "Get Down" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Curse of the Shakers - "Lonesome Highway" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Curse of the Shakers - "Quit Your Knockin'" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| When Rock & Roll Nightmares (scroll down to October 2007) quit playing in 2001, Curse of the Shakers formed. It featured a few of the same band members, but the sound became simpler and more focused. Over the next five years, the band practiced occasionally and played a few shows (and band members came and went). The first two songs posted above were recorded in 2004 for a 7-inch record that never materialized. The last track is from the final Curse of the Shakers practice in January, 2007. | ||

| Signal 7 - "Changed (live)" | previously unreleased | MP3 |

| The Synonyms - "Wreck of the Old 97" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| The Synonyms were a short-lived band that was a sort of revamping of the Acronyms. They played mostly songs from the 50s and 60s but also had a few original tunes. The band featured two members of the Acronyms plus a guy named Benji, who happened to record a couple of their practices. This recording of a classic disaster song was kindly provided by Benji. The inspiration for the Synonyms version of this track was the 1924 recording by Vernon Dalhart. | ||

| Justin Kearbey - "My Baby Don't Care" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| I had time to kill back in February, so I learned this song by the (wonderful) Gants and very quickly recorded it. It's an extremely rough performance, but the song itself is fantastic. If you've never heard the Gants, you should look them up and buy their stuff. | ||

| Barbie Holocaust - "Sick of It" | Noise with a Beat (compilation) | MP3 |
| Barbie Holocaust - "Sue the World" | Noise with a Beat (compilation) | MP3 |
| More stuff from our old Noise with a Beat compilation! For those who don't know (or don't remember!), Barbie Holocaust was a band in the mid '90s that featured two kids and one mom. According to the 65sk804 compilation, the band "first played major venues...when Rudie was 12, Matt 13, and Mom...well, old." These two songs are from their second tape, which was much more polished and punk than their first tape. Maybe we'll post a song or two from the first tape in the future. For now, enjoy this double-dose of Springfield punk rock! | ||

| Thee Fine Lines - "Corinne" (demo from Oct. 29, 2005) | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Here's a demo version of a song from Thee Fine Lines' Set You Straight album! This was recorded on October 29, 2005 (about a year before the officially released version) at the same session as "I Can't Go On," which was featured on the "Riot on Soundflat Strip" compilation. There's actually a version of the song from a couple years earlier (Fall 2003), but this version is better! | ||

| Fuller's Earth - "The Sun's Symphony" | V/A - Bands & Vans: a compilation. | MP3 |
| Wow...we've been posting rare songs for two years now! This month, we've got a track by one of the best bands to ever come out of Springfield, MO...Fuller's Earth! I think they still play shows every once in a while, so go see 'em if you get a chance! This song was on our "Bands & Vans" compilation, and i think the band put it on one of their tapes or CDs as well. | ||

| Rock & Roll Nightmares - "Graveyard Shift" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Rock & Roll Nightmares - "Crashing" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Rock & Roll Nightmares - "Sharks" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Rock & Roll Nightmares were around for over a year, but only played 3 shows. It was a supergroup of sorts, featuring members of U$MC, Fugue, Trixie & the Merch Girls, Dementia Praecox, and Bastard Wrench. Things never really came together, and the band dissolved in 2001. NOTE: I couldn't remember the names of these songs, so i made up new titles! |

| Justin Kearbey - "Don't Cry No Tears" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| I got bored in October 2006 and recorded this cover of a Neil Young song. I learned it from the recording a few minutes before making this recording, so it's pretty rough. The drums were played on my nephew's little kid drum set (now that i think about it, i think the main guitar was played on his little kid guitar, too). Awesome. | ||

| So we skipped July...so what?! This month we've got a live song from Thee Fine Lines' latest tour (recorded in June, 2007) and an unreleased Fugue recording. "Maybe a Bear" was on Fugue's first cassette, "Eye Eye," but this is a later re-recording the guys did for the fun of it (i think it was recorded sometime in '97). Rock on. | ||

| Fugue - "Thinking (demo)" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| Fugue - "Appendix" | previously unreleased | MP3 |
| To mark Fugue's 11-year anniversary (their first show was on September 16, 1995), we're posting two previously unreleased tracks! The first is a demo of "Thinking," a song that ended up on their Sings Your New Favorites album. This demo version was recorded sometime in 1997 with Justin K. playing all the instruments. The second rarity is from a studio session in Warrensburg, MO that yielded no usable results! In 1996, Fugue won "people's choice" at a battle of the bands. The prize was time in the studio. About half the songs recorded were later re-recorded by the band for their Why is it Dark? album, but the other half remained unissued in any form. This song was supposed to be the final track on their second (unreleased) album. | ||
